Ballots have arrived! Here is a helpful guide to voting in Hawaiʻi

☐ Confirm your voter registration and sign up for ballot tracking:

https://hawaii.ballottrax.net/voter/

☐ View your ballot and digital voter guide:

https://olvr.hawaii.gov/altballotsearch3.aspx

☐ Receive your ballot and vote by mail.

On the front page, it will instruct you to pick a political party and cast votes for contests in that part only. Be sure to double-check: In the primary,  you can only cast votes in one political party. If you do vote in 2 or more parties, your ballot will be invalidated during the count on election day and there is no way to fix it.

On the back page, there are nonpartisan races to vote for. Please read the instructions as some races allow for only one (1) vote, and some for more than one (1) vote.

When you are done voting, put the ballot into the secrecy sleeve and outer envelope. Be sure to sign the back of the envelope.

Mail your ballot in ASAP and no later than August 7. There are also ballot drop boxes located all around the islands that you can use through election day. Even so, you should not wait to return your ballot, as you should allow some time for the county clerk to verify your signature. If for some reason your signature is not accepted, they can contact you to let you know and allow you to cast your vote in person on time.

☐ Vote in person

Voting in person is still available if you prefer or if you damage or lose your ballot. Hawaii has same-day voter registration available at all voter service centers. Voting in person will invalidate any mailed ballot and it will not be counted.

The primary election is on August 10, 2024. After the last voter service center closes, results will be released and published on elections.hawaii.gov.
